Strategic Advisory & Transformation Leadership

A distinguished strategist and transformation leader, Mai specializes in modernizing complex organizations across the public and private sectors by expertly navigating the intersection of global business operations, federal policy, and organizational strategy. Her professional portfolio is defined by a unique ability to translate macroeconomic trends into actionable corporate roadmaps, guiding leadership through large-scale shifts that ensure institutions are both modernized for the future and grounded in operational excellence.

From leading "Go-to-Market" strategies in emerging and developed economies to securing high-impact strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities, Mai excels at hitting aggressive fiscal performance objectives while mitigating geopolitical risks. By leveraging public-private diplomacy and engaging with sovereign leadership and regulatory bodies, she drives high-level strategic alignment and fosters the cross-sector collaboration necessary to protect and position global brands within increasingly volatile environments.

With a career grounded in driving large-scale organizational shifts, Mai has consulted with industry leaders including Booz Allen Hamilton, Accenture, and Grant Thornton. Her professional portfolio is further distinguished by her work with U.S. Federal Government agencies, where she has spearheaded initiatives to streamline operations and implement modernization strategies for the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of Commerce (DOC), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Beyond her advisory work, Mai is a seasoned entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Mai’s Kitchen Food Service. In December 2020, she published her debut book, Cooking with Mai: Easy to Prepare West African Food, as part of her mission to bridge cultural gaps through the culinary arts. This commitment to community extends to her leadership of the Women’s Empowerment Network (WE Network) and her podcast, Conversations with Mai, where she interviews executives, community leaders, and entrepreneurs to share insights and foster the cross-sector innovation necessary to inspire the next generation of global change-makers.

International Impact & Advocacy

Born in Sierra Leone and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, Mai’s work is deeply influenced by her West African heritage and an unwavering commitment to global development. Her influence extends across international policy and education through two primary pillars:

Global Initiatives: She recently developed a strategic deployment proposal for the Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative, specifically designed to empower women and girls in Chad through accessible education.

International Relations & Diplomacy: Mai leverages her professional platform to foster high-level collaboration between government officials, institutional leaders, and senior policy advisors. By bridging the gap between public policy and social impact, she drives critical global conversations regarding the most pressing issues facing underserved populations today.

Academic & Personal Foundation

Mai’s commitment to public service was sparked early in her career during a prestigious internship at the United States House of Representatives. This foundational experience in community building led her to pursue an academic path focused on leadership and governance, earning an MBA and a B.S. in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Frostburg State University. She recently furthered her expertise by obtaining an Executive Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, specializing in the complexities of the modern global economy. Above all her professional accolades, Mai is the proud mother of her daughter, Aziza.
